WHO WE HELP

Massage therapist stretching a clients arm

KS Therapeutic Massage focuses on a holistic approach to wellness, emphasizing both physical and emotional healing. Our skilled therapists use a variety of massage techniques tailored to each client’s individual needs.

We offer specialized services, such as prenatal massage, which is designed to support expectant mothers by relieving tension and promoting relaxation during pregnancy. Additionally, our post-surgery massage helps to improve circulation, reduce scar tissue formation, and enhance overall recovery.

Pain management is another key aspect of our practice. We employ methods like deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, cupping, and myofascial release to target specific areas of discomfort, helping clients manage chronic pain effectively.

Education plays a vital role in our treatment. We believe that by providing clients with insights into their bodies and wellness strategies, they can take an active role in their health journey. Whether it’s through self-care techniques, lifestyle advice, or ongoing support, we aim to empower our clients to achieve lasting wellness.

Frequent Questions

What is your draping policy?

Following the Georgia Massage Therapy Practice Act, proper draping protocols will be enforced to provide safety and comfort for both the client and the therapist. Clients' boundaries regarding disclosure of personal information and physical exposure will not be violated. Refusal to respect and agree to these terms will result in the immediate termination of the session, with full payment owed regardless of time lost. This point is non-negotiable.

What do I wear?

You will be asked to disrobe to your comfort level during a massage. Fully disrobing, including undergarments, is perfectly acceptable. Muscles in and around the hip and gluteal area often cause dysfunction in the body and require bodywork. Professional draping guidelines will always be practiced, protecting your privacy and comfort. If, for any reason, you are uncomfortable disrobing, our therapist is trained in specific bodywork to accommodate clients fully clothed.

One massage a month is typical for those who use massage as preventative care or to manage daily stress. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving massage for injury relief or to relieve chronic pain that is interfering with your daily life. Many people incorporate massage therapy at least twice a month for optimal therapeutic relief. Massage is a proactive health approach that is less expensive than traditional healthcare.

Massage-How often?

Will the massage hurt?

Massage therapy should always work within the client's comfort level. Some clients enjoy the 'hurt so good' feeling, while others prefer a gentler touch. Communication is key. Clients and therapists should check in with one another often to gauge comfort and pressure and make necessary adjustments. Feedback is essential, and therapists require it to improve their technique, facilitate the healing process for clients, and provide customized sessions.

ABOUT

I’m self-conscious about ______. What should I do?

We all have parts of our body we're self-conscious about. Some areas you may be concerned about are:

  • Your weight, Unwanted body hair, Scars, Acne or other skin blemishes

Please don't let this stop you from getting help from a massage therapist. If you're sensitive about a particular area, ask them to avoid it. You can also opt for a fully clothed massage. Whatever your concerns, know that your therapists are friendly, supportive and judgment-free.

What if I fall asleep and drool or snore?

When it comes to massage frequently asked questions, this is a common one. It's normal to fall asleep during a massage. You might be feeling stressed and sleep-deprived, so falling asleep is normal once you're in a relaxed state. There's zero judgment from us if you snore. We're pleased you're relaxed enough to fall asleep, and we won’t mention it. Drooling is also common, especially if you're on your front. Ask us for a tissue, and we'll be glad to grab one for you.

What if I’ve experienced a trauma (or abuse) that is still triggered by touch?

Your therapist is Trauma-Informed Certified, Yes, let your massage therapist know if you do not want to be touched in a specific area or in a certain way. You don’t have to give us any details, and you have the right to ask to take a break or end your massage altogether at any time, for any reason.

Isn't massage just to help you to relax?

Massage is an excellent way to relax, but it also offers many other benefits. It can help alleviate chronic muscle aches and pains, reduce stress, and ease muscle tension. Additionally, massage improves circulation, alleviates breathing problems, lowers blood pressure, and reduces headaches. It enhances daily mobility and overall well-being, while also aiding in the management of anxiety and depression. Furthermore, massage promotes healthy sleep.

Hi,
I'm Kristi

I've always been passionate about helping others, and my journey stretches back to when I was a young girl massaging my dad's back. The joy it brought him gave me a sense of purpose, which I strive to achieve in my clients today.

2010, I was licensed and recruited to a chiropractic office in Newnan, Georgia.

I discovered my passion for pregnancy, pain management, and recovery massage there.

In 2019, I was ready to start on my own, which was the start of my massage career.
